Prokhorov offered to disband the National Districts

At the party congress, "Civic Platform" Mikhail Prokhorov discussed several issues related to the division of the country into territories on basis of nationality.

Billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov proposed to change the Constitution to refuse division of Russia into the national district and republic, RIA Novosti reported.

Prokhorov said he believes the division into national areas and ethnic republics inefficient from an economic point of view. Internal borders, in the opinion of the policy, form a "national ghettos", where the local corrupt government oppresses and robs people of all nationalities, besides it is a prerequisite for active playing "national map."

"Is not it better to say honestly that the Stalinist-Leninist system was no longer effective in the XXI century" - said Prokhorov. More appropriate, in his opinion, would be an approach to the territory from the economic point of view. According to the billionaire, globalization has led to a sharp deterioration of the national identity.

Leader of the "Civic Platform" added that the issue of the administrative-territorial division is very complex and requires a change to the Constitution.
